Rihanna is working on a new album. The Barbadian singer mentioned it on the Graham Norton Show on 15th June. She did not disclose the date of release. Her last album ‘Anti’ came out in 2016. Rihanna was in London to promote the film ‘Oceans 8’ in which she is acting.

Boyzone who were one of the top boy bands of the late 90s is bowing out. After 25 years together the group which generated very popular songs such as ‘Love Me For A Reason’, ‘A Different World’, ‘No Matter What’, ‘Picture Of You’, ‘Words’, ‘Father And Son’, ‘ All That I Need’ and ‘When The Going Gets Tough’ between 1994 and 2008 will be splitting up. The Irish group will go out with the release of a final album and farewell tour. Their final album will be called ‘Thank you & Goodnight’ which be out on 16th November and feature a track written by Ed Sheeran. Their farewell tour will commence in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 23rd January and move over to Dublin in Ireland crisscrossing the UK ending on 9th February in Bournemouth. Boyzone until now have released five albums and 24 singles. The group originally comprised five members. Stephen Gately a frontline singer died in 2009. The surviving members are Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Michael Graham and Shane Lynch.

Jess Glynne has topped the UK singles chart with her new song ‘I’ll Be There’. The song is her fourth UK No: 1 song but seventh overall taking her featured roles as well. In fact Glynne is now the only female artist with the most chart topping songs in the UK. The 28 year old co-penned ‘I’ll Be There’ with Fin Dow-Smith, Camille Purcell, Jerker Hansson, Henrik Michelsen and Edvard Erfjord. The latter two are also the producers of the song under the names Starsmith and Electric.

Meanwhile Clean Bandit the group that helped Jess Glynne to be a star have their own song ‘Solo’ advance on the UK singles chart from 6 to No: 2. In fact the margin on lead for Glynne’s ‘I’ll Be There’ and Clean Bandit’s ‘Solo’ is 898 on streams and downloads. With Demi Lovato’s vocals this song has a good chance of taking the lead next week.

Newcomer to the chart is Tom Walker with his debut hit ‘Leave A Light On’ which advanced to the UK top 10 from 16 to No:8. The indie pop/indie pop track is on the fifth week on the chart. Walker’s very Scottish accent comes across clearly on the song. ‘Leave A Light On’ is currently a standalone track with no album connection.

Cardi B has her new hit song ‘I Like It’ with Bad Bunny and J Balvin reach the top 10 from 13 to No:9. The US rap star seems at ease on the song which is based on the old salsa track from 1960s with Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny and Colombian singer J Balvin adding the Spanish vocals to the Latin trap track. The song samples Pete Rodriguez ‘I Like It Like That’. The song has been on the climb for 10 weeks.
