182 Sri Lankan A/L students receive Pakistan Scholarships

The Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka said, this year it has awarded scholarships to 182 Sri Lankan Advanced Level students, through its Jinnah Scholarship programme to follow higher Education courses in Pakistan.

The awards ceremony was held on April 23, at the BMICH, in the presence of a distinguished gathering with UGC Chairman Prof. Mohan De Silva as Chief Guest and parents of the successful students. Prof. Mohan De Silva expressed his appreciation of the Jinnah Scholarship programme which has benefited numerous Sri Lankan students, since its inception in 2006, with approximately 1,500 scholarships awarded to date.

Pakistan High Commissioner Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat, addressing the gathering, congratulated the successful students on their achievements, and hoped they would continue to excel in their academic pursuits. “Pakistan will continue to support Sri Lanka in enhancing its younger generation’s nation building capacities, with better Educational opportunities,” he said.
