Automated tax system being modified to conform with new Act: IRD

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) said the automated tax system RAMIS is being modified in keeping with the new IR Act. IRD Commissioner General Ivan Dissanayake drawing reference to a Sunday Times news item last week, said the cost for the modification will be negotiated after it is completed.

He said that, “According to the Memorandum of Understanding entered by the Ministry of Finance with the NCS, as the Source code of the RAMIS programme is with the NCS programme developer in Singapore, no other person can develop the programme until 2020, without NCS consent.” The Sunday Times in its report last week said the automated tax system – RAMIS needs to be changed to be compatible with the new IR Act.
