Sri Lanka in association with the Gamini Fonseka Foundation and the Lester James Peries Foundation will present a public lecture titled – ‘Saving Sri Lanka’s Film Heritage’ at 4.45 pm on

Wednesday, March 14 at the NFC’s Tharangani Auditorium, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7.

Speaking at this public forum will be three experts from the world of film preservation – David Walsh (Training and Outreach Coordinator of the International Federation of Film Archives), Mick Newnham (formerly of the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia) and Shivendra Singh Dungarpur (Filmmaker, archivist and founder of the Film Heritage Foundation, India).

The talk will be followed by refreshments and a screening of the newly digitized version of Dr. Lester James Peries’ epoch-making film “Rekava” (1956) with English subtitles.

All are welcome. Seats are available on a first-come first-served basis.
