The long awaited annual Inter House Sports Meet for the year 2018 of Bandarawela Tamil Central College was held at the Municipal Esplanade of Bandarawela, with Volga House overall emerging champions.

Volga House obtained 619 points with a fine overall display to emerge champions. They overcame the threat posed by Nile House who secured the second place with 566 points. Mahaweli House secured the third position with 545 points.

In the house decoration competition, it was Nile House with the best decoration won the best award with the rhythm of cheering. The physical exercise display with the participation of the three houses was a spectacular entertainment for the spectators.

R. Janaraj and B. Abirami of Volga House were adjudged champions in the Under-18 age group. V. Preveenkumar, B. Nanothini and A. Yogeshwari of Nile House dominated in the Under-18 and Under-16 age groups respectively. R. Kabeshana, R. Jayakumar and S. Vinusha of Mahaweli House also swept the Under-20 and Under-18 age group championships.

Over 1000 students participated in the colourful annual Inter-House Sports Meet representing three houses; Volga, Nile and Mahaweli houses.

The Sports Meet was well organised with the leadership and guidance of the principal K. Chandraraj, Snr. Deputy Principal S. Saravanan, Deputy Principals, Sports Committee and the PTI. A collective effort had been placed by the above in the process of organising the event.

R.M. Ariyadasa, the Zonal Director of Education Office, Bnadarawela was the chief guest while S. Mathiyalagan, the Assistant Director of Zonal Education Office, E.M. Shanthalal Edirisinge, the Director of Divisional Education Office, Bandarawela were the guests of honour. N. Ragupathy representing YMHA, members of SDS and SDC, principals, deputy principals, teachers and students of neighbouring schools were also present at the event.
