Competing in girls group ‘E’, Vishaka Vidyalaya Bambalapitiya remained unbeaten and clinched the ‘Golden Star award’ for the fourth consecutive year at the 17th all island schools U/14 boys and girls hockey carnival 2017 concluded recently at Asgiriya stadium in Kandy. Twenty five girls teams across the island divided in to five groups participated in this tournament conducted by Sri Lanka schools hockey association.

The top two teams in each group were awarded gold medals. Vishakians led by Thisarani Madurasinghe competed against Mahamaya Girls Kandy, Sangamitta Girls Galle, Ladies College Colombo and Swarnamali Girls Kandy in their group fixtures.

Vishaka team was coached by Anurudha Bandara Herath.
