The fourth FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola will arrive in Colombo on January 23, giving Sri Lankan fans the chance to experience football’s most coveted prize. The global leg of this tour will feature Sri Lanka as the first international destination and President Maithripala Sirisena will preside over the historic event, local Coca Cola officials confirmed.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola kicked off in September 2017 in Russia and will visit more than 50 countries across six continents, travelling 126,000 km in the nine months leading up to the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Ministry of Sports along with the Football Federation of Sri Lanka has appointed a task force under Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara’s leadership to make all necessary plans for this momentous and landmark event, officials said.
