Hameed records stunning win over Bharatha

Zahim Hameed of MICH recorded a stunning but hard fought win over fancied Bharatha Siriwardena of BRC in a first round match of the Colombo District Snooker Championship played at the Moors SC billiards table yesterday.
Hameed after conceding the first frame to Bharatha who won with ease struck back to take the remaining two frames.
In the other matches that were played saw the fancied cueists winning their matches to advance to the second round.
The Colombo District Snooker Championship is a qualifying tournament for the forthcoming national snooker championships which is scheduled to be played next month.
The top eight players of this tournament will qualify to take part in the national snooker along with the other district qualifiers (Kandy and Galle) and the top 16 ranked players of Sri Lanka. The tournament will be continued today.
