My favourite storybook
My favourite storybook is ‘Bula and the boy’. The author of this book is
K. D. De Silva. My mother bought this book for my 10th birthday.

The story is about a boy and a dog staying at his house. His father gave him a big box as his 10th birthday present. When the boy opened the box it was a little puppy. The boy named the little puppy Bula. The boy fed Bula every day. Bula got bigger and bigger.

One day the boy came home from school and couldn’t find Bula. The boy looked everywhere but he couldn’t find Bula. When the boy was sitting sadly on his doorstep, he saw something running towards him. The boy immediately knew it was Bula.

The boy was very happy. The boy loved Bula and Bula loved the boy.
I liked this book a lot. I thank my mother a lot for buying this book.
I keep this book at the top of my book rack so no one can take it without my permission.

My least favourite chores around the house
My least favourite chores around the house are scraping coconut and sweeping the house.
If somebody wants to make me scrape coconuts or sweep the house it would take a huge amount of persuasion to do it. I usually do it when my mother asks me to. I try hard to avoid my mother before I know that she would ask me. Constantly asking me to scrape coconuts and sweep the house makes me irritable, but I do it all the same for the sake of obeying my parents.

My roommates
My roommates were four little birds. They built their nest on my fan. There were momma, papa and two little baby birds. Momma and papa found food for their hungry babies. They peeped out at me when I was doing my homework. I love them and I hope that the two little baby birds will build their nests in my fan when they grow up.

My dreams of tomorrow
Countless people have dreams.
Their ambitions and goals can change from time to time. People who strive hard are generally successful. To be successful, a strong mindset is essential and maybe also a mentor to guide you until you reach your ultimate goal. Many individuals claim that their dreams will eventually materialise. For this you have to go out and dig deep for your dreams. I have always fantasized on becoming a world renowned chef or a top-notch pilot.

Although becoming a chef is one of my most treasured dreams, the thought of flying a massive engine in the sky, knocks it over. From a very young age, my passion was all for aviation. I used to be dazzled by constantly reading about aircraft history and even attending local aviation exhibitions. One of my hobbies was collecting replica aeroplanes.

The road I have taken to help achieve my goal started from an early age by getting advice from experienced pilots. The fundamental pillars of support for me are my dearest parents and especially my dad who is a role model to me. He taught me to pursue my dreams, regardless of any obstacles that may hinder my path.

My favourite sport
Sports are the physical activities played in a special area according to fixed rules. There are many sports such as tennis, badminton, netball, volleyball, golf and more. All these sports are divided into two main categories. They are indoor sports and outdoor sports.

My favourite sport is netball. It is an outdoor sport. Netball emerged from Basketball that was invented in 1891 by James Naismith. Netball was first played in Sri Lanka in 1921. The first game was played by Ceylon Girl Guide Company at Kandy High School. Netball is a ball sport played by two teams of seven members. These seven players are known as Goal Shooter (GS), Goal Attack (GA), Wing Attack (WA), Centre (C), Wing Defence (WD), Goal Defence (GD), Goal Keeper (GK).

Netball is played in a rectangular court with raised goal rings at each end. The object is to score goals from within a defined area by throwing a ball into a ring attached to a 3.05 metre high post. First of all the ball is given to the Centre in the first team, who stays in the middle of the court. If the members of that team put the ball into the goal they must be given a mark. Next the ball is given to the Centre in the next team.

I like netball because it teaches us many things such as team spirit, leadership qualities and also I like it because it is a team event and an outdoor sport. My dream is to play in the Sri Lankan Netball team one day.

My ambition in life
An ambition is a goal that you have in your life. There are lots of good ambitions like doctor, pilot, manager, teacher, businessman, nurse etc.
My ambition is to be a pilot so I can fly airplanes around the world. So I have to learn mathematics and science as well. I can achieve my ambition. I like to be a pilot because I saw pilots in the airport and also people respect them. I watched a video of how planes are working and how to fly. And also I can help the world by being a pilot. I can take people in the sky from one country to another country.
In my opinion an ambition is necessary because when you do a good job you can get money necessary for day to day work. And also ambitions are needed for all of us because if there is no job it will be a trouble.

Snakes
There are about 2500 different
kinds of snakes. Some are only a
few centimetres long but some are
7 ½ metres long. They are long and thin like worms. They don’t have legs. They use their tongue to feel, smell and taste.
Some snakes are very poisonous. They have two special teeth which are long and which can point forwards.
A very poisonous snake is the Krait. It is much smaller than the cobra but is it more poisonous.
I am very afraid of snakes.
