A major programme to mark National Diabetes Day will be held next Sunday, November 12. With President Maithripala Sirisena as Chief Guest and Health Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne as Guest-of-Honour, the Diabetes Walk 2017, exhibition and health screening programme will kick off at Galle Face Green at 6.45 a.m. on November 12.

Starting with aerobic exercises and then the Diabetes Walk, the Exhibition and Health Screening Programme will follow, with a Public Seminar Series on Diabetes and HealthyLifestyles also being conducted.

The free screening will include tests for diabetes, HBA1C, cholesterol, foot problems, eye and dental checks, along with free health advice, dietary counselling and physical exercise demonstrations.
