So far local athletes have been entered into the world ranking list and will be accumulated their points by adding this event results. This time too there was a huge response to the call for volunteers, from different strata of society. This augurs well for spreading the news about modern pentathlon in the event. Two Universities — University of Moratuwa and the University of Sri Jayawardenapura- took part in the event, not only by having athletes taking part, but also having stalls at the event to educate athletes and spectators about scientific approaches to sports attire, Biological Measurements, Health and Training tips. Modern Pentathlon — combination of five different events constitutes the most demanding sport of the Olympic Games. Pentathletes competed in the following 5e disciplines- Fencing, Swimming, Riding and a combined event of Shooting & Running.

This Sport is now being introduced to Sri Lanka by the Modern Pentathlon Federation of Sri Lanka (MPFSL), which is affiliated to the UIPM and the Asian Modern Pentathlon Confederation (AMPC)
