The annual Joint Field Training Exercise- Cormorant Strike VIII- is scheduled to take place at Padaviya, Eastern Province and Hambantota, from September 3-24.
The Exercise launched by the Sri Lanka Army for the eighth consecutive year, will have 2,675 officers of the Sri Lanka Army, Navy and Air Force, including 62 foreign military personnel and observers, participating.

The Training Operations will commence with operational tactics of Infantrymen, including Commandos, Special Forces and Mechanised Infantry Regiment troops, while the Navy and Air Force, together with foreign military men, will join the exercise.

Foreign Military Officers and Observers from China, Russia, United States of America, Brazil, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Maldives, Israel, Iraq, Oman, Turkey and Malaysia will join the programme.
