Heated words over kite ends in death of father and son
Allegedly killed by father and son of a family with whom they had a long-standing dispute
View(s): A dispute over a kite resulted in a father and son being hacked to death in Minuwangoda yesterday (26). Police identified the victims as Lal Premasiri De Silva (45) and his son Suraj Dhananjaya (20).
According to police, the incident at Gamangedara in Minuwangoda, occurred between two families in the area, with a longstanding dispute between them. A heated exchange of words had allegedly taken place on Friday, regarding a kite allegedly flown by members of one family over the other’s house.
Yesterday members of the other family had set upon the father and son, hacking them to death with sharp weapons. They were later arrested by Minuwangoda Police.
