The Rolling Stones the world’s oldest active rock band could be ready to release brand new music. Reports say guitarist Keith Richards has told fans in a Q&A with the Ultimate Classic Rock magazine that they are cutting new stuff. If confirmed the new album will be the first collection of original material in 12 years. The Stones led by Sir Mick Jagger 73 last album of new music ‘A Bigger Bang’ came out in 2005.

The world’s most stream song ‘Despacito’ has been toppled from the No:1 spot on the UK singles chart by ‘Wild Thoughts’ by DJ Khaled featuring Rihanna and Bryson Tiller. The mid tempo Latin inspired R&B song moved up a notch ending a long run by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee with Justin Bieber. ‘Wild Thoughts’ took five weeks to get to the prime position after it debuted on the chart at No: 3. The song samples Carlos Santana’s ‘Maria Maria’ which was a No: 6 UK hit in 2000.

‘Wild Thoughts’ is the 41 year old US producer and DJ’s second UK chart topping song. In May he reached the top of the chart with ‘I’m The One’. Eleven persons share the credits for writing ‘Wild Thoughts’, Khaled, with rapper and singer Bryson Tiller, Jahron Braitwaite and Robyn Fenby for the new section while Carlos Santana, Raul Rekow, Marvin Moore-Hough, Jerry Duplessis, Wyclef Jean, David McCrae and Karl Perazzo for the section sampling ‘Maria Maria’. The hit is taken from Khaled’s album ‘Grateful’.

The only song to gain entry to the UK top 10 singles chart this week is ‘2U’ by David Guetta featuring Justin Bieber. The six week old track in fact is on its second run on the top. It first debuted on the chart initially at No:5 dropped 8, 10 and 11 and has moved up to No: 10. The EDM/ pop track is from the 49 year old French DJ and producer’s next untitled album.

Kenny Rogers is to officially retire from his singing career on 25th October. The 78 year old member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and winner of numerous AMAs and Grammy Awards will reunite with Dolly Parton for the final live performance of the iconic hit ‘Islands In The Stream’ at the – All In For The Gambler: Kenny Rogers Farewell Concert at the Bridgestone Arena, in Nashville, Texas, USA. ‘Islands In The Stream’ was written by the Bee Gees and became a huge hit across the world in 1983. Rogers and Parton last sang the song at a charity concert last December. Kenny Rogers has sold over 100 million records worldwide and has had over 120 hit singles.

The Script is to release a new album ‘Freedom Child’ on 1st September. The 14 track album is expected to feature largely up-tempo tracks and cover current themes such as terrorism, heartbreak and euphoria. ‘Rain’ is lead single from the new album. The three member Irish group has had six top hits so far with ‘Hall Of Fame’ making them global stars in 2012.
