My best friend
My best friend is my classmate Chenara. We attend St. Joseph’s Convent and are in Grade 8 and we occupy the seats next to each other in the class. She is very pretty and helpful and we have common interests in studies and hobbies. So we have a great deal to talk about. We exchange ideas and discuss school lessons which we don’t understand.
We often visit each other in our homes to play chess or go swimming together. Our parents take us to the beach which is so pleasurable watching the fishermen bring home their catch, the seagulls swooping and diving above the boats waiting to catch an exposed fish from the nets and fly away in graceful formation into the blue sky. We lie on the soft, warm, sand and roll over to catch a crab or two.
My friend and I enjoy these times and always hope to enjoy together long after we have left school.

Recycling
Recycling is the process of converting waste materials into reusable objects which help minimize pollution, energy usage and also the consumption of fresh raw materials.

Do you know that recycling is a great weapon in the fight against global warming? This weapon called recycling can be started by us and taken to our future generation. Everybody would like to live in a world free of pollution and global warming. We do not need to be stressed about the future because we can start it by ourselves.

Let’s start recycling and save our Planet Earth and make it a better place to live.

My favourite storybook
My favourite storybook is ‘The Throne of Fire’. It is written by Rick Riordan. It is the second book in the Kane Chronicles series. The main characters are Carter Kane, Sadie Kane, Ra and the villain Apophis. It was first published in 2011 by Disney Hyperion.
This book is about Egyptian gods in the modern world. The author creates a clear view of the whole story in the reader’s mind and also grabs the reader’s attention to read more. Carter and Sadie are two wizards.
Ra is the Sun God and Apophis is the Serpent of Chaos. The story is about an adventure to find the three scrolls and stop Apophis before he swallows the Sun and plunges the Earth into darkness forever.

My favourite author
My favourite author is J. K. Rowling. She was born on July 31, 1965 in England. She studied at St. Michael’s Primary School and Wyedean College. The idea for Harry Potter came to J. K. Rowling while riding on the train to London from Manchester.

Her first book was published in 1997. She wrote many Harry Potter books. They are, ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phonix’, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’, and lastly in 2007 ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’.

I read all of these books. Some of her other books are ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’, ‘The Tales of Beetle the Bard’, ‘Quidditch Through the Ages’ and ‘Harry Potter Prequel’.

‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ was her final book of the Harry Potter series. It was published in 2016.

Our Environment
In our environment there are lots
of plants, trees, animals and insects. Some people cut down trees.
If we cut down trees we will not be
able to breathe. It’s ok if we cut trees
if there is no space but we should plant more and more plants. We should not put garbage on the road because our environment will get ugly. We should put garbage to dustbins. We should not kill animals also, its’ a very big sin.
We should love animals. If we love animals they will love us too.

We can divide the world environment into many small environments. Your room is an environment. Inside your room there is a bed, cupboard, pillows and a door. We should keep the environment nice and clean.

My mother
My mother has taught me to always be the best, to treat everyone equally, to not give up and to not tell lies as it hurts more in the end. She has taught me good and helped me prevent the bad.
Mother, the greatest influence in life is not only as a mother but also as a friend. The love of a mother to her child is like nothing else in the world. The love of a mother has no match nor can anyone replace her love. Mother is our best teacher and trainer. Mother is another word for love. Mother for whom I have a deep respect in my heart is the best gift from God we could ever have. Before ending this I want to say that I love my mother.

Animals shouldn’t be kept in zoos
Animals too have their rights.
They are living creatures, who would like to spend their time moving freely in the natural habitat. Wild animals have the freedom to move according to their wishes. In search of food or if they want to move to a new area they can do so when they are living in the natural habitat.
But supposing we cage them and provide all the facilities, I doubt that the animal is satisfied. It may eat or live in a cage but the freedom of
going from a place to another is only
a dream for the animal.

In zoos sometimes, the disturbances caused by the spectators too may be inconvenient to the animals. They don’t get a chance to rest when they want. Food too will be given on time. The animals get isolated when they are caged. It will be kept away from herds or the race. I think it is an injustice.
Like humans, animals too have to get their freedom. I personally think that animals should not be kept in zoos.
