‘A Heritage of Song’ – a compendium of ‘the musical journeys of musicians with Sri Lankan roots who have performed mainly in English’ will be launched tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the Galadari Hotel’s California Grill. The book compiled by Ishan Bahar follows on the first volume released in 2015 and has as many as 125 accounts of musicians telling their personal stories – a fascinating glimpse into their careers and achievements and indeed their lives accompanied by photographs.

The first book was launched in Melbourne. Says singer Mignonne Fernando in the foreword, “This book is an amazing way to let music lovers of today discover the stories behind our talented artistes who in the early years, paved the way to introduce and sustain their styles of music and song in the Western music idiom in Sri Lanka.”

The book is priced at Rs. 2000. To obtain a copy, please contact Ishan Bahar 077 3562877
