Delay in Letters of Admission to enter university: UGC

View(s):

The University Grants Commission (UGC) says, Letters of Admission the Commission sends to students eligible to enter university, will be delayed by at least a week, due to the ongoing postal strike, as well as the recent natural disaster in several areas of the country. He said the letters were to be dispatched by June 30 but, due to the postal strike, the deadline has been extended to July 7.

He said the delay in receiving the letters will not cause any problem to the students who have qualified for admission. He said that all letters sent by the UGC are received by the Postmaster General, after they are duly signed, and then dispatched to the students. If there is no one to receive the letters, they are returned to the UGC. He said the students should await the letters for at least an extra week, before calling over at the UGC. (DW)
