Much beloved of all of MasterChef Australia’s legions of fans, celebrity George Calombaris will be in Sri Lanka from June 8 to 11, giving a lucky few an exclusive opportunity to dine, learn and interact with him. His visit is courtesy of Cinnamon Life, Colombo’s premier lifestyle mixed development , one of the most ambitious projects in the region in terms of scope, design and the exclusive lifestyle it promises to deliver.

During his visit, George Calombaris will tour the island and experience Sri Lanka through the Cinnamon properties.

A leading chef and restaurateur, Calombaris owns 10 restaurants in Australia, including The Press Club, Gazi, Hellenic Republic and his souvlaki bar – Jimmy Grants. However, he is best-known in Sri Lanka as the popular judge from the TV series- MasterChef Australia. During his stay in Sri Lanka, he will reveal his professional culinary skills and knowledge, and his penchant for being an entertainer, which is manifested by his favourite catchphrase, ‘Boom Boom, shake the room’!

His cuisine is inspired by his Greek and Cypriot heritage, which gives him a unique advantage, which is evidenced in the fact that he was adjudged Chef of the Year – 2008 by ‘The Age Good Food Guide’.

His exciting itinerary while in Colombo features two authentic Greek dinners curated by the chef  himself and a High tea event, as well as a Masterclass for cooking enthusiasts. A charity auction will also be held by Cinnamon Life, at which the popular chef will be ‘auctioned’ for charity to the highest bidders who can enjoy an exclusive lunch with him.

A testimonial to his popularity is his wide social media fan base, which consists of 332,000 fans on Facebook and 120,000 followers on Twitter and 174,000 on Instagram.
