Electro Doctors keeping up the local vibe

“Electro Doctors” a DJ/Producer band essentially centered on Electronic Dance Music (EDM) comprises Kanishka Pushpadeva and Viraj Perera. This duo were classmates and found the road to this DJ/Producing career back in the latter part of 2015. Both aged 21. They were inspired by watching DJ’s work at festivals and get togethers Viraj and Kanishka both schooled at St. John’s College Panadura. After O/L’s Viraj left to St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa.
The duo have released 6 tracks on labels in Beatport. They have produced a track for a well-known melody which has a touch of the Sri Lankan “Gajaga Wannama”, and named it as “Gajaga” which has an amazing essence when played back live to the crowd.
Their latest release was “Abinabi” On “Rave In Action Recordings” with over 3,500 plays the figure offers inspiration to the boys to keep making music. Electro Doctors have some new releases and singles to be released this year. While Kanishka is a master of the pioneer CDJs and Viraj skilful at music productions, they’ve taken the leap together and played over 50 gigs around the island and in the future they have plans on going on tours.
When they get on stage the thrill of seeing an energetic crwod is what gets them going. “We get the crowd cheering and we want the crowd to have fun while connecting with us on the dance floor.”
Viraj creates most of the tracks. He started making music in 2013 at FL Studio 11 makes music using the same method.
He always thinks out of the frame and writes music.
Apart from music Viraj is studying for a Networking & Security degree and Kanishka is also in the midst of studying for an external degree at the Colombo Campus while working at Dialog Axiata.
At the end of this year they are looking forward to signing up with a label .
