Debut film of two brothers Kalpana and Vindana Ariyawansa, ‘Premaya Nam’ will be screened at several cinemas including   Regal cinema Colombo, Lido Borella and Liberty lite Kollupitya for a limited engagements from February 17. The film also will be screened at other Lite cinemas, New Imperial Kurunegala and Ratnapura.

The film was screened at a number of international film festivals including the 21st Palm Beach International Film Festival in Florida, USA and international film festivals including, Beijing, Shanghai, Goa, Kerala, Bangaluru, and New Delhi.

Based on a true story, “Premaya Nam” starring Shyam Fernando, Samanalee Fonseka, Suranga Ranawaka and Dr. Sathis Wijemanne, it features an ensemble of cast frequently seen on contemporary theatre, television and cinema. Cinematographer Jaan Shenberger acted as the director of photography while Tapas Nayak and Andrew Scott Duncan did the sound design. Original score was composed by Dr. Rohana Weerasinghe and theme song was written by Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne. Daminda D. Madawala contributed as the assistant director while internationally acclaimed filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage acted as the executive producer. Consultant Psychiatrist Kapila Ranasinghe was the advisory consultant to the movie. Brothers Kalpana and Vindana Ariyawansa wrote and directed “Premaya Nam” which is being produced by Prem Dissanayake, Athula Mahawalage and Sujeewa Wijesinghe.
