‘Sara Sande: Tribute Concert to Sarath Dassanayake’ will be held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre on February 17.

A musical extravaganza featuring veteran singer Victor Rathnayake will be held at the BMICH on February 18 at 7 pm, to coincide with the award-winning musician’s 75th birthday.

‘Sara Sande’ will focus on popular film songs of the late musician Sarath Dassanayake.  A host of singers representing the veterans and the young generation will sing the songs created by Sarath Dassanayake.

This show is organised as part of the 35th year anniversary of state television Rupavahini.

The music will be directed by Suresh Maliyadde while Nilar N. Cassim will be the Master of Ceremonies.

Victor’s Concert will feature Victor’s popular song line up including some of his songs that were not sung in his celebrated ‘Sa’ solo musical concert.

A new CD comprising 12 of his new songs and a book encompassing the singer’s musical career will be released on this day while the official website of Victor Rathnayake will also be launched to coincide with this event.

Jayantha Rathnayake will direct the music for the show.

The Concert is organised by the ‘Victor Rathnayake Prathiba Pranama Sansadaya’.
