Police Sports Club routed CH and FC by 45 points (five goals, two tries) to 26 (three goals, one try) in their Dialog A Division League Rugby Tournament match played at the Race Course Grounds, Colombo 7 yesterday. Police led 26-0 at half time.

Police SC dominated the first half scoring 26 points to nil. And CH and FC bounced back to score 26 points in the second half but their effort in vain losing the match by a huge margin.

Police SC’s Sujan Kodithuwakku, who had a grand game, scored two tries and the strong fullback made five conversions, driving the side to a tremendous victory.

Centre Riza Raffideen scored two tries to increase the deficit. Niroshan Silva, who plays at wing three quarter also scored a try by the left corner flag before prop forward Udara Gayan burst through to touch down the mid-right.

Second Row Charles Praveen and Number Eight Radeesha Seneviratne also touched down for two tries in the second half.

For CH and FC, flanker Kasun Senaka, Number Eight Udara Madusanka, Second Row Prabhath Wadugodapitiyage and Centre Lakith Perera scored the tries. Fullback Wishwamithra Deneth made three conversions.   -SJ
