The Ministry of Megapolis is at a loss how to get rid of the colossal mountain of garbage in Colombo at Bloemendhal Road, Madampitiya and Kolonnawa which is an eyesore, health hazard and an annoyance to the people living in the vicinity. It is estimated over 1,200 metric tons of garbage is collected daily in Colombo and this dump is bursting at the seams.  To solve this problem, the Government has already approved 10 acres in Muthurajawela for the daily garbage disposal and to transport the accumulated mountains of garbage either by rail or road to Puttalam at enormous cost.

Now that the Colombo Megacity is to be built on 270 hectares of land to be reclaimed from the sea, this colossal heaps of garbage could also be buried in this landfill most conveniently. Thus acres and acres of valuable land will be available to build flats for the poor labor classes who work in the city and also improve health of those who suffered for generations breathing foul air of rotting garbage.
