Defending champions Colombo FC recorded an easy victory over Negombo Youth, 4-0, in the Dialog Champions League 2016 stage II Group A soccer match played at the City League Football Complex yesterday.

In a one-sided game Colombo FC dominated from the start, playing a well organised and controlled game giving no chance to the opponents to settle down. It was completely a different game they played today comparing to the game they played last week losing to Blue Star Kalutara 1-0.

The defending champs led in the first half 1-0 through a goal scored in the 44th minute by Japanese striker Dan Ito. In the 50th, 53rd and 55th minutes Colombo FC went on a rampage scoring three goals. The goals were scored by P. Momas, Olayami and M.N.N. Meera respectively.

Two players from the losing side were shown yellow cards by referee Robesh.

In a match played in Kelaniya Football Complex Renown defeated Super Sun Kalutara 3-1 having led 2-0 in the first half. The goal scorers were M. Rifnas (29th minute), Azam Akram (43rd minute) and Job Michael (85th minute). K. Safras netted the solitary goal for Super Sun in the 83rd minute of play.

Air Force beat Saunders 2-0 in the another match played yesterday at Ekala. For the winners Kavindu Ishan scored the first goal in 13th minute and the other goal was netted by Sumedha Fernando in the 66th minute.
