Connecting authors, situations across time and across countries ‘Musings of Culture’ by Shireen Senadhira is a collection of 28 articles published in the Sunday Observer from 2009 to 2012. Comparing the life of Gajaman Nona with Western authors such as Emily Bronte, Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath and Alice Walker along with different stories the book covers a wide area of literature and culture.

Writer and artist, Shireen Senadhira published her first book ‘Ehela Ablaze’ in 2008. Her book has been published locally and abroad. She had also been a columnist for the Sunday Observer. Shireen has lived in Geneva and travelled widely.

‘Musings of Culture’ was launched on June 1 at the auditorium of the National Library and Documentation Services Board, Colombo 7. Founder, Chairman & Director of VijithaYapa group of companies, VijithaYapa speaking at the book launch said that he feels that the book will create a ripple in literature as it covers a variety of subjects and it is not just a novel.

Musings of Culture by Shireen Senadhira is available at VijithaYapa bookshops priced at Rs.800.
