Toro and Turf Equipment partners Shangri-La Hambantota in developing first golf resort
View(s):Shangri-La Hambantota Resort and Spa which opened on June 1 simultaneously saw the opening of the country’s first golf resort. The hotel has a partnership with Toro and its local distributor, Turf Equipment Ltd as the supplier for the entire range of machinery required to maintain the golf course to international standards, the local company said in a media announcement. It said the customer requirement was for the most up-to-date, highest quality equipment on the market, with efficiency and productivity backed up by prompt service. Toro supplies the latest model of the Greensmower with the flexible cutting unit, the 4 wheel drive Fairway mowers with Dual Precision Adjustment cutting units, Trim and Rough mowers, Aerating machinery, Sprayers, Bunker raking machine and the Utility vehicles.
The prestigious Mercedes Benz Trophy tournament for owners of the luxury cars was held last week at the Shangri-La Hambantota course. Toro is the preferred equipment for all the Golf course operators in Sri Lanka such as Royal Colombo GC, Victoria Golf and Country resort, Nuwara Eliya GC, Eagles GC in Trincomalee and the 9 hole courses operated by the Sri Lanka Air Force, Navy and Army. Managing Director of Turf Equipment, Shiran de Soysa says “this order is a big win for us and Toro, who will extend their global presence in Sri Lanka”.
