NTB strengthens SMEs with innovative services

Nations Trust Bank has taken a further step forward in its on-going support for the growth and development of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises(SMEs) in Sri Lanka.  With the introduction of the ‘Nations Business Conference,’ a strategic initiative under SME business solution the bank has created a platform for interaction and idea sharing for SMEs. The first round of SME seminars was conducted in Ratnapura, Panadura, Matale, Maharagama and Jaffna during the first quarter of 2016. Learning the must-do’s on growing their businesses effectively was a key component of these seminars which resulted in an encouraging participation from the region, the bank said in a media release.

Currently SMEs play a key role in the country’s economy as they contribute to economic growth whilst also providing an essential source of employment opportunities. The full potential of SMEs can be realized by empowering them with financial advice, human and financial capital and technical skills.  Jayathilake Bandara, Deputy General Manager Small and Medium Enterprises at Nations Trust Bank said that “Our SME value proposition comprises broadening the economic impact of our activities through consumer education and enterprise development. Our services aim to provide solutions that go beyond the best financial solutions”.  Nations Trust Bank’s offers customised portfolio of products to suit the varying requirements of the SME customers.
