The Schools Under-20 rugby players, will receive a perfect exposure to polish their sevens skills, when Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU), is preparing to send a team to participate in the Asian Rugby 7’s series tournament, which is scheduled to held in Malaysia on July 30 and 31 and in Hong Kong on August 12 and 13 respectively this year.

This is the second time that SLRFU, is preparing to send off a national Under-20, 7s team since previous year.

To select the best agile and athletic players for the Under-20 7s team, SLRFU will conduct a sevens tournament in Colombo on July 16 and 17. The tournament is open to all clubs, schools and any other institutions registered with provincial unions.

The teams’ wishing to participate should send their confirmation in writing to SLRFU on or before June 30.

A team can register a maximum of 15 players, and more than one team from a club, can participate in this tournament. Also participating teams, must admit their player and team registration forms to the union on or before July 7.

The age eligibility: players born between January 1, 1996 to December 31, 1999 are eligible to participate in this tournament.

The players born from January 1, 1999 to December 31, 1999 must complete the applicable world rugby under 18 eligibility form.
