Sixteen players qualified for the Men’s Rankers Event for the President’s Cup Carrom Championship 2016 organised and conducted by the Carrom Federation of Sri Lanka worked-off at the Carrom Federation Headquarters last weekend.  Eight women players booked their slots to play in the Women’s quarters-finals with most of the favourite players found their way without much difficulties as they trounced their opponents easily.

In the Men’s qualifying round the closest match was witnessed when K.K. Prakash met K.W. Danuka. The game swung either way as both players matched each other in every aspect of the game, but at the end Prakash squeezed through to a close 25/24 win.  The tournament will be continued this weekend with the Women’s quarter-finals and Men’s final round where the ranked 16 players meet qualified 16 rankers and will be followed with Men’s pre-quarters.
