‘Segawunu Mitiyawatha’ Experimenting on a new cinema

Young filmmaker Nirmal Rajapaksa who came to the limelight with his maiden experimental film Pitasakwala Abhirahasa’ (The Mystery of ET), a story warning on the dangerous threat of aliens to the humanity, is to make this second film ‘Segawunu Mitiyawatha’.

With an innovative mind Nirmal developed his own technology with whatever he could collect from the local market and, if necessary, from abroad to create his first film. Taking another step, Nirmal is to use digital animations, special computer effects, technology and digital environment to his second film. Nirmal who passed out from a training course for film directors conducted by the National Film Corporation (NFC), has studied cinema and animation cinema extensively.

The cast of the film includes Sathischandra Edirisinghe, Sangeetha Weeraratne, Mahendra Perera, W. Jayasiri, Arjuna Kamalanath, Kumara Ranapura, Akila Sandakelum, Lasantha Kamalsiri, Adheesha Hewawasam and Sashi Anjalina.

Behind the screen assistant director is Ruwan Jayasinghe, production executive Lasantha Kamalasiri, cinematography Chandana Dharmapriya, make up Bhagya Alahakone, animation arts bu Rohan, Achintha and Nayana from Moratuwa university and special digital effects are by Nadeera, Manoj, Thanindu, Neranjan, Himash and Rumesh (3D Modling Lead) and Mithun Perera (3D Animation Lead and Ruwan Perera (VFX Composite).

The Muhurath for the film is to be held on March 11 at National Film Corporation.
