Hair Art 2015 brought out admirably what potential and talent exists in the beauty industry today. The graduating students of the Ramani Fernando Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy had the audience at the Colombo Hilton on Tuesday at the edge of their seats with a striking display of styles.

Teenage haircuts and colour casual hair styling was featured in the “Hip Hop” segment, elegant, wearable hairstyling trends for long hair was the focus in the “Hair Silhouette” section, and fantasy hairstyling took the ramp in the “Celestial Signs of the Zodiac” section.

The show had all the glitz and glamour that audiences would expect of this well known name in the hair and beauty industry.

Hair Art 2015, a presentation by Sunsilk and the Ramani Fernando Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy celebrated the accomplishments of the Graduating Class of 2015 as well as their decade-long partnership, which has fashioned more than 4,600 careers in the hair and beauty industry in Sri Lanka to date.

“We at Sunsilk and Unilever feel privileged to have such a strong and time-honoured partnership with Ramani Fernando who is a pioneer in the hair and beauty landscape of Sri Lanka,” Marketing Director-Personal Care for Unilever Sri Lanka, Sharmila Bandara commented while applauding the achievements of the graduates of the Class of 2015,.

“Sunsilk believes in continuously adding value to our consumers through our products and initiatives, and the partnership with the Ramani Fernando Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy has helped us work towards the bigger purpose to further developing the Sri Lankan hair and beauty industry,”she said.

Hair Art 2015 presented a number of special awards, including this year’s City & Guilds’ Medal of Excellence and the Best Sunsilk Student Award.

CEO of Ramani Fernando Salons, Ramani Fernando said, “Our goal has been to provide world-class training for budding hair and beauty specialists, giving them a chance to achieve their dreams and contribute to the progress of the beauty industry in Sri Lanka.

I hope we have brought you one step closer to this dream and I wish you the best in your future careers.”

Annually, Sunsilk offers 24 scholarships to deserving and talented students to follow the Diploma in Hairdressing at the Ramani Fernando Sunsilk Hair and Beauty Academy, and additionally conducts special initiatives such as scholarships for the Sewa Vanitha unit of the Sri Lanka Army.
