Justin Bieber fights his way to the top

Four weeks ago Justin Bieber’s song ‘Sorry’ had to settle for the No:2 spot as it debuted on the UK singles chart owing to the much anticipated return of Adele and her new song ‘Hello’ which smashed in at the top of the chart.

But this week Justin’s slow paced tropical house/pop song put on a strong fight to topple Adele’s ‘Hello’ and take the UK top spot on the chart. ‘Sorry’ had a combined sale of 104,000 this week with over 5.35 million streams included.

For three weeks ‘Sorry’ played second fiddle ‘Hello’ and this week it raced ahead giving 21 year old Canadian artist Justin Bieber his second UK chart topping song following ‘What Do You Mean?’.

‘Sorry’ is co- written by Bieber along with Julia Michaels and Justine Tranter. The track is produced by Skrillex and Blood Diamonds and taken from Bieber’s new album ‘Purpose’. ‘Sorry’ is also top of the charts in Czech Republic, Denmark, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Sweden.

Another track Justin Bieber ‘Love Yourself’ debuted on the top 10 at No: 3. The song has not been not officially released but is being downloaded and streamed as his new album is new and also points to the fact many fans believe the album ‘Purpose’ contains goods songs.

‘Love Yourself’ is co penned Bieber with Ed. Sheeran and Benjamin Levin. It is a stripped down ballad with only a guitar accompaniment. The interest in the track is wider as Bieber had performed it on the Ellen Degeneres show recently.

Jess Glynne’s song ‘Take Me Home’ took a 14 notch jump from 20 to land at No: 6 on the UK singles chart. The emotional track is the Children In Need single for 2015. The song is the fifth song to be taken form Glynne’s debut album ‘I Cry When I Laugh’.

One Direction saw their song ‘Perfect’ climb from 16 to No: 10. The song was performed by the group on X-Factor last week. The dull chart performance of ‘Perfect’ is compensated by their album ‘Made In A.M’ which topped the UK album chart.

Sir Elton John was reported to been very upset that the top executives of his long time label Capitol records dropped him after hearing his new album ‘Wonderful Crazy Night’.

They felt the new music was commercial enough. The ‘Crocodile Rock’ hitmaker then moved over to Island records and will now release the new album in February.

Coldplay will have US President Barack Obama feature on their album ‘A Head Full of Dreams’ which comes out on 4th December.

A sample of the Obama singing ‘Amazing Grace’ at a funeral service for one of the victims of the shooting incident in Charleston will be on the title track.

The white House and the church where the funeral service was recorded granted special permission. It is believed the US president is a fan of Coldplay.
