Coldplay have announced their new album called ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ will be out on 4th December. The rock band’s seventh album is widely rumoured to be the last. Ahead, Coldplay will release the single ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’.

The new album has been recorded in London, Los Angeles and Malibu. It will feature collaborations with Beyonce, Noel Gallaher and Tove Lo. Coldplay is fronted by Chris Martin.

The Eagles have cancelled plans to accept their Kennedy Centre Honours on 6th December as group member Glen Frey has to undergo serious surgery for intestinal issues, which also requires a lengthy recovery period. The Eagles will accept the honours in 2016.

The music industry has contributed £4.1 billion to the UK economy in 2014. Data released recently indicated British music grew by 5%, overriding the growth of the economy which grew by 2.6%. The artists whose contribution was huge were Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Coldplay and One Direction.

‘Hello’ is the No: 1 song on the UK chart for a second week after the power ballad by Adele moved a combined 179,000 in downloads and streams.

For 27 year old Adele, the song is her second No: 1 on home ground after ‘Someone Like You’ back in 2011. Meanwhile the song has topped the charts in three more countries including the Switzerland, Canada and the US.

In total ‘Hello’ is No:1 in 11 countries. In the US, it registered the best selling single in a week since Elton John’s ‘Candle In The Wind’ back in 1997.

Arriving on to the UK top 10 singles chart at No: 7 is the track ‘Never Forget You’ by MNEK. The song released in July, has spent eight weeks since it debuted at No: 47 stopping over at 46, 42, 32, 19, 15 and 11 before crossing over to the top 10.

The dubstep, house trap track has 17 year old Swedish singer Zara Larsson leading the vocals with MNEK playing a secondary role although it is his song. Larsson has previously had hits only in Scandinavian countries.

For MNEK whose real name is Uzoechi Emenike, a UK singer, songwriter and producer, ‘Never Forget You’ is his first solo hit. But the 20 year old did feature last year on Gorgon City’s ‘Ready For Your Love’ which peaked on the UK chart at No: 4. ‘Never Forget You’ is a grower perhaps because accompanying video which is rather heart-warming.

Ariana Grande’s ‘Focus’ is the only new song which debuted on the UK singles top 10 at No: 10. The pop track is taken from her forthcoming third album ‘Moonlight’ and is her third UK top hit too.

Her previous songs ‘Problem’ and ‘Bang Bang’ were chart toppers. Of course she had other artists on them, while on ‘Focus’ Ariana Grande is on her own.
