A book on the rise and fall of communal politics in Sri Lanka, Clouding the Crescent in Sri Lanka, by Lukman Harees, a UK based Sri Lankan author and social activist will be launched tomorrow at 6 p. m., at the Club House , Havelock City, Colombo 06.
This book particularly highlights how the recent hate campaign against Sri Lankan Muslims affected the socio-political realities and the imperative need for a political will to reiterate the multi-ethnic and multi-lingual approach in working forward for a future Sri Lanka with a sustainable peace and economic development.

Ven. Dambara Amila Thera, Senior Lecturer, University of Sri Jayawardenepura will deliver the keynote address on the theme: National Reconciliation: the Need of the Hour. S.G.Punchihewa, Senior Attorney at Law and Pioneer human rights activist will review the 493 page book, with a more pictoral accent. The book, which will be autographed by the author will be available for sale after the event.

Lukman recently authored another book ‘The Mirage of Dignity on the highways of human progress’ published in US. The book covers the wide gap between the rhetorics and realities pertaining to human rights in the world. This book was mentioned in the London Book Review and received many review accolades.
