Lions Club hold multi-service project
View(s):The Lions of nine Clubs (Colombo 6 Cosmopolitan, Colombo Havelock Town, Colombo Pride, Colombo West, Dehiwela North, Havelock City, Nedimala, Pepiliyana Metro and Wellawatha West) of Region 1 of District 306A2 held a multi service project under the patronage of District Governor, Lion Dr. Nandana Kaluarachchi MJF and his wife, Lion Dr. Manel at St. John’s College, Nugegoda.
The project included the distribution of saplings, garbage disposal drums, sports equipment, school notice boards, wheel chairs, spectacles (after testing vision) and tooth-brushes. A seminar and workshop on non-communicable diseases together with a dental care and diabetic awareness and prevention programme was conducted. More than 350 people attended.
Past District Governors, Lion Neil Seneviratne, Lion Nimal Aluthge and Lion Duminda Munasinghe and Region 1 Chairman, Lion Farid Abdelcader, the Chief Region Coordinator and Deputy Cabinet Secretary, Lion Kumudu Kitsiri, and the two Zone Chairmen of the Region, Lion Deva Jayamanie and Lion Thushara Peiris were among those present at the closing ceremony.
