Applications are invited from the children of estate workers, who are residents of estates, for award of scholarships by the Ceylon Estate Workers Education Trust (CEWET). These scholarships are available for G.C.E. Advanced Level, Undergraduate courses and for students undergoing Vocational/ Technical education in any of the Government Technical colleges in Sri Lanka, a press release from the Indian High Commission in Colombo said.

Students who have passed G.C.E Ordinary or Advanced Level examination with either Mathematics or Arithmetic at the G.C.E. ‘O’ Level examination and below 25 years of age are eligible to apply. The completed application forms must be accompanied by photocopies of birth certificate, result sheet of GCE ‘O’ or ‘A’ level, latest salary slip of parents and Estate Superintendent’s certificate regarding Parent’s occupation.

Application forms are available at the High Commission of India, 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo 3 and at the Assistant High Commission of India, No.31, Rajaphilla Mawatha, Kandy. Completed forms should reach the Honorary Secretary, CEWET c/o High Commission of India, P.O. Box 882 Colombo-03, on or before September 30.
