With reference to last week’s story headlined ‘Five strategic development projects including Krrish to lose concessions’, Dilip Samarasinghe, Director (Media & Publicity) at the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) has sent the following clarification:
“The BOI has written to the BOI enterprise AVIC International Hotels confirming that since the SDP process has been already completed, the concessions under the provisions of SDP Act no 14 of 2008 shall remain unchanged.”

Our reporter states:
Krrish, Lanka Suger, CHEC Port City, Avic International and Prosperity Place Lanka had received cabinet approval for SDP status.
After that, such order should be published in the Gazette which is then placed before parliament for approval. This process, as far as the Business Times is aware, is yet to take place.
