Moratuwa and Peradeniya universities are carrom winners
Moratuwa University and Peradeniya University emerged winners in the Men and Women’s categories respectively at the Inter University Carrom Championship 2015 concluded at the Carrom Federation Headquarters, Maharagama last week-end.
Thirteen Universities around the country took part in this tournament organised by the University of Jaffna and worked-off on a very high note where highest qualities of the game was exhibited.
In the Men’s Finals Moratuwa University beat Ruhuna University 3-0 while in the Women’s Finals Peradeniya University too scored an easy 3-0 win over Moratuwa University. In the battle for the third place in the Men’s segment Peradeniya University was given a tough time by Rajarata University who went down fighting 2-3. In the Women’s battle for the third place also turned out to be a hectic one as Kelaniya University had to face stiff opposition by the Ruhunu University to beat them 3-2.

3rd Place: Peradeniya University beat Rajarata University 3-2 (25/08, 25/16, 16/25, 05/25, 24/17)
Final: Moratuwa University beat Ruhuna University 3-0 (25/04, 25/02, 25/16)
