The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) recently launched its newest programme, MBA in Taxation (MBA-T) in collaboration with the Department of Inland Revenue.

Dr. R.H.S. Samaratunga, Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Secretary to the Treasury was the chief guest at the inauguration of the MBAT. Ms. Kalyani Dahanayake, Commissioner General of the Inland Revenue Department was the guest of honour, according to he PIM.

Dr. Samaratunga expressed his satisfaction over the decision taken by the Inland Revenue Department to enhance the skills and competencies of the officials of the department through the MBA-T programme. Ms. Dahanayake spelt out the aim of launching this programme, and said that the time has come to enhance the managerial capabilities of the officials of the department.

Dr. Ajantha S. Dharmasiri, Director, PIM, thanked the Commissioner General and her staff for making this venture a reality.
Dr. Travis Perera, Senior Consultant, and Member of the Board of Management, PIM, explained the key areas of study of the newly designed MBA-T, and its modules.
