The Ceylon Association of Ships’ Agents (CASA) jointly with the Customs ICT division recently conducted an awareness programme in Colombo to educate members on the Cargo Targeting System (CTS) promoted to be used by the World Customs Organization (WCO).
The new system aims to provide many facilities for risk management by aiming to detect high risk consignments moving through the supply chain as well as trade facilitation, CASA said.
Two Customs representatives from the ICT division and Chairman of the CASA Committee on Documentation and Information Communication Technology made presentations at this programme.

CASA has a regular dialogue with all divisions of Sri Lanka Customs with regard to industry matters which influences its membership.
