‘Kalaabhushana’ for Lankika

Lankika Perera of Golden Chimes was awarded ‘Kalaabhushana State Award 2014’ at the 30th Annual Kalaabhushana State Award Ceremony held at the BMICH last week.

Annual Kalaabhushana State Award Ceremony was organised by the Department of Cultural Affairs under the patronage of the Minister of Cultural Affairs K.B. Ekanayake. The Golden Chimes leader Chanaka Perera too was awarded ‘Kalaabhushana in 2013.

‘Kalaabhushana’ was awarded to Lankika for the services rendered by her to the music industry. Lankika being the main vocalist with the Golden Chimes for 43 years, performed with same band in Sri Lanka and overseas for over four decades.
She has released number of CDs and Gospel CDs of originals during this period.
