The SLIM Nielsen People’s Awards, an annual, marketing event, is organizing a ‘Power of Research’ workshop on November 4.

With an experienced and highly qualified panel of speakers, the Power of Research workshop aims to educate the corporate community on the importance of research in today’s dynamic market environments. Shaheen Cader, Nielsen Managing Director will be the keynote speaker at the workshop discussing how to interpret and decode research data. Mr. Cader is one of the most experienced professionals in the Sri Lankan market with over 20 years of research experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from the University of Birmingham, UK, and a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK), according to a media statement from the organisers.

Imal Fonseka, CEO of Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) will discuss ‘The Power of analytics’, specifically the need to look beyond the traditional tools. He is a graduate of the Charted Institute of Marketing (UK) and a Certified Management Accountant of Australia. Tharaka Ranwala, Deputy General Manager – Marketing and Business Development of Sampath Bank PLC, is a professional banker and marketing specialist and he will deliver a speech on, ‘It’s all about knowing your customer in real-time’.

D. C. A. Gunawardena, Director General of the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS) will speak on ‘Anybody can do research but interpretation makes the difference’.
