At The Ocean Seafood Restaurant, it’s all about the clean uncluttered flavours that celebrate the natural essence and freshness of seafood. The luxuriously vibrant restaurant at the Kingsbury has revamped its already fabulous menu to entice and indulge the seafood connoisseur.

Chef Kithsiri De Silva with his team of enthusiastic chefs has put together a superlative menu that caters to the discerning diner. The new menu invites you to be adventurous, take your pick from the day’s catch on display and have it cooked to your liking with the help of the endless list of suggestions on the menu.

The variety that’s on display is enough to send you on that frustrating path of indecisiveness. The choice is extensive. There’s something for everyone, whatever your preference may be. The seafood display is brimming with the freshest of the ocean’s bounty: crabs of all sizes, lobsters, oysters, clams, mussels, shrimps, prawns, squid and a variety of fish. You are truly spoilt for choice.

The extensive menu offers a mind boggling array of preparations. There’s much thought that’s gone into planning the menu. Your lobster can go many ways, from Continental; thermidor, Provençale or grilled, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Thai to Sri Lankan. The crab, fish, squid and prawns take the same eclectic international route. Prefer it simply baked, grilled or steamed? It’s all on the menu. There’s freshly shucked oysters to slurp down with a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkling of herbs or just steamed to perfection. Succulent mussels and clams sautéed or steamed. Still looking for more options? Try out the chef’s special.

While the seafood market theme is the show-stopper, popular seafood restaurant fare makes an appearance on the new menu, bouillabaisse, laksa and chowder have made it into the list of soups. The range of salads includes spicy fried ‘handella,’ Caesar salad, a warm Thai salad to name but a few. Hot appetizers come in the form of deep-fried and baked treats. The ubiquitous sushi and sashimi have also booked a firm place on the menu. For the carb addicts there’s a choice of rice, noodles and potatoes. And, of course the ‘feel good’ servings of vegetables done in many ways.
