BJP scholars here to explain India under Modi

A group of Indian intellectuals who support the political ideology of the Bharatiya Janatha Party will arrive in Sri Lanka today to take part in a panel discussion on the impact of the new Indian government on Sri Lanka, the region and the world at large.

Organised by the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS), the panel discussion titled “India under Narendra Modi:Relevance for the Region and the World”, will be held tomorrow from 5 p.m. to 7.30 pm at Committee Room B of the BMICH. The BCIS said in a statement, the panel discussion has been organised to develop a deeper understanding among political commentators on issues facing the two countries.

The delegation led by BJP Chairman Dr. Subramanian Swamy will include BJP Foreign Policy Cell National Convenor Dr. Seshadri Chari, former Union Minister Dr. Suresh Prabhu, senior journalist Political Commentator Dr. Swapan Dasgupta and Geopolitics Professor Madhav Nalapat. These BJP activists are prominent persons in post-election India and have had strong ties of friendship with people and institutions in Sri Lanka.

The panel discussion is open to the public.
