Pension details via SMS
View(s):Newly retired public servants will be able obtain details of their pensions via SMS text messages, a Pensions Department senior official said.
He said the pension number, the cheque number and related details would be sent to the new retirees via sms and for this purpose retiring public servants would be required to give their mobile phone numbers in their application forms.
“The department is receiving too many inquiries over the phone. This system will reduce the time taken to respond the calls,” the officer said adding that even pensioners, especially those from the outstation, would benefit from this system as they would not have to visit the department seeking clarification.
