‘Kodivinaya’ to fight dengue

Gunapala Karunapathirana’s street play ‘Kodivinaya’, a propagandist theatrical to campaign against the dengue epidemic is ready to go around the country.
The play carries the message that the people who support dengue breeding places are devils with human faces and are directly responsible for the spread of the epidemic.

“As an artiste I believe we all have a responsibility to educate and make the public aware of deadly epidemics like dengue. This is a play which was done as a public service,” Karunapathirana said. Deeman Hettiarachchi, Manori Sagarika, Lakmini Tilakaratne, Rangani Hettiarachchi, Ranjith Rajapaksa, Sandya Kalyani, Harshaka Saman Kumara and many others comprise the crew.

Lakmini Madumali scripted the play while Madushanka Gimhana handles make-up, costumes Sunitha Nandani and Kanthi Dissanayake, production management by Mahinda Wijesekara, Sumith Perera and J. D.
