A tourist yachting company, established by a French couple in Beruwela titled Sail Lanka Charter recently introduced its newly built sailboat, Topaz.

This vessel is a 48ft sailboat that would offer public and private cruises from its mooring in Beruwala Harbour, its Director Julien Carayon said.

The company has been set up as a partnership between a local shipyard, Baff Polymech of the Building a Future Foundation, and a French couple Elodie Le Blevenec and Julien Carayon, both professional navigators, a media release issued by the company stated.
With more than 10 years of sailing experience the couple has commenced the sport of yachting, providing day charters aboard the Topaz.

The vessel has a large and open cockpit able to accommodate upto 30 passengers and has a Ceycat 48 made in Koggala, Mr. Crayaon explained.

Inside the hulls is the starboard side, two bathrooms for men and women and to the port side, a large fully-furnished kitchen and a cool area with fridge and cool boxes.

The company offers three programmes throughout the day, Mr. Carayon said with a morning trip from 9.00 – 12 noon; afternoon trip from 1.00pm – 4.00pm and an evening trip from 5.00pm – 7.00pm.

Sail Lanka Charter would be attracting locals as well as the overseas travellers to travel onboard the Topaz catering to families, individuals and groups from birthdays to weddings and parties and even corporate events.
