Faizal Salieh, Managing Director/CEO of Amana Bank is resigning from his position and retiring from the service of the bank from June 1, the bank said this week.

The bank said it would announce a new CEO after obtaining the approval of the Central Bank.

Mr. Salieh, who held senior positions in the banking sector at ANZ Grindlays and NDB in a long banking career, led the formation of Amana Bank in August 2011 as the country’s first full-fledged licensed commercial bank operating entirely on the principles of Islamic banking.
