Fire at estate line room
View(s):Some 20 line room abodes were seriously damaged as a fire spread through the workers’ living quarters at an estate in the Nuwara Eliya Division early last morning, police said.
The incident took place at the Ramboda Estate in Kotmale, Nuwara Eliya, according to police.
They added that the regional fire brigade and residents of the area had brought the blaze under control.
A spokesperson of the Disaster management Centre (DMC) said that the affected persons had been moved to safe locations and that no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated, the spokesperson added. (LB)
