They will sing the words and they will even sing the music. Expect nothing less than full-on, uncensored vocals at this year’s ‘Eve of Acapella’ organised by the United Students Circle of Royal College. This is the third time the school is organising the show, having previously staged ‘Eve of Acapella’ in 2010 and 2011.
Performing school choirs include Royal’s own, along with Ladies College, Asian International School, St. Peter’s College, Holy Family Convent and a choir comprising of past pupils of Royal College.

This year, the organisers hope to take things up a notch by also introducing a selection of guest performers. Shuaib Jabbar, a past pupil of the school is one such singer who will be joined by a selection of other performers including Nilesh Narendran, a beat boxer. Nilesh, at 16, is still in school and looks forward to his solo performance in addition to the group one. Also performing at the show you’ll find the band Invictus led by Shaminda Dias, beat boxer Julius Mitchell, and Dimithri De Mel.

Eve of Acapella happens on the February 1 at the Royal College Navarangahala from 6pm onwards.  Tickets for the event, priced at Rs. 400, 800 and 1000 are available at the school and selected outlets, or buy them online at www.tickets.lk
